Stepping into the future
Today we’re celebrating a new milestone for Southstar.
After running several public real estate companies in the 80s and 90s, my dad, Larry Rutherford, created a company that allowed him to assemble a talented team of like-minded professionals, to create communities they would be proud of. He operated to a simple set of rules –
- Every deal should feel good for all parties.
- Every community should be a point of pride for every employee, investor and resident.
- In our relationships, our communities and our transactions, Southstar has always taken a long view. We plan for the future, consider our surroundings and commit to long-term success.
- We don’t shy away from hard projects, hard work or hard conversations – we are willing to do the work to successfully achieve numbers 1 – 3 above.
Those principles have served Southstar well for nearly 25 years.
We’ve delivered thousands of homes and acres of parks, experiences and millions in value, and most importantly, a legacy that continues to honor Larry’s original vision.
Consistent to that vision, we continue to think about the long vision for Southstar and our craft. Part of that conversation has led us to consolidate the Southstar brands – from Southstar Communities, Southstar Development Partners and Southstar Realty under the brand Southstar.
Our work and vision remains the same – to develop important communities that reflect and support their surroundings, elevate quality of life for our residents, and deliver meaningful investment results for our partners.
Today we are introducing the new Southstar brand, website and our renewed commitment to Larry’s long-standing vision. Thanks for being on this Journey with us, we’re excited about the future for this team and the Southstar legacy.
