Gretchen Howell
Senior Vice President
Make communities that matter. This has been Gretchen’s mantra across her 30-year career. Whether working on resort destination properties led by the world’s most noted brands or on smaller local mixed-use developments, Gretchen’s approach is consistent yet responsive to the needs of each community and its surrounding area. Gretchen leads the charge across development, community operations, and sales and marketing. And her leadership style is holistic, mindful of delivering value for investors, enhancing the quality of life for residents and commercial tenants, and creating regional wins through collaborative planning. From establishing give-back foundations at each community, introducing new home types to expand resident diversity or forging new regional partnerships, Gretchen’s positive-sum approach to community development has resulted in dozens of thriving communities. And her career-long passion to offer housing solutions that create layered, inclusive communities has helped to build value, stabilize communities and promote new generational wealth. Gretchen is an active member of ULI, serving on the national ULI Community Development Council, and serves on numerous boards and committees in San Antonio and Nashville. She is completing a Master’s in Government (her second master's) from the Kennedy School at Harvard University. Gretchen is a proud mom of three and a new empty nester … which she hopes means more skiing, sailing and hiking with her husband.
